How much solar energy does glass let through? We measure this in the G-Value Lab. This is how we improve prototypes and solutions for transparent and semi-transparent façade systems.

From prototype to market-ready product: in our climate chamber, the conformity of heat and cooling pumps with outputs of up to 300 kW is tested and certified.

How do you measure the thermal and hygrometric characteristics of building materials? We use analytical scales, climate chambers and more. The result? Innovative materials.

We test the thermal and energy performance of passive and active building envelope systems. Inside and outside. As a result, we can reveal practically every secret of a façade.

What is the realistic output? In the open-air lab, we test free photovoltaic modules and those integrated into buildings. It also works for roofs and coverings.

Our strobe light sun simulator measures the performance of photovoltaic modules and systems. Outdoors and in the laboratory. The test results are a guarantee of quality.

How do gaseous and liquid substances flow more effectively in industrial processes? We focus on hydropower production, biomass gasification and energy conversion. 

VOCs are volatile organic compounds. In two test chambers, we measure emissions of formaldehyde and VOCs in building materials. We develop room sensors.

Our lab for molecular and cellular biology. Because we want to understand the genetic mechanisms of health and disease. Our focus? The nervous system, heart and circulation.

We carry out applied and basic research for the South Tyrolean wine industry. In other words, we conduct experiments in the wine cellar. And test oenological technologies.

What are the food parameters for wine, grape must, distillates, juices and grapes? Using the FT-IR spectrometer, we measure quickly and precisely. And now we also measure beer.

Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It’s a mouthful. But it is THE method for determining the origin of agricultural products and characterising new substances.

Fungicides, insecticides and herbicides. If it were up to us, pesticides would be eliminated from the food we eat. In this lab, we extract and analyse residues.
