What the lab researches

Oenolab

Do you produce wine or similar? We analyse the process from the ground up.

Production, conditioning and storage: we research the production process of alcoholic beverages.

The oenolab is our laboratory for contract research and consulting on the production of wine and other alcoholic beverages. In three steps, our experts will get you to your goal.

The first step is a high-resolution instrumental chemical analysis. This enables us to assess the quality of raw materials, intermediate products and end products (grape must, wine, ingredients, materials and packaging). Based on this assessment, we make recommendations for production, conditioning and storage technology.

These are the high-resolution instrumental chemical analyses:

Two-dimensional gas chromatography in combination with time-of-flight mass spectrometry – an emerging analytical technique in which two capillary columns are used in tandem to separate the individual substances to be analysed. In contrast to conventional one-dimensional separation, GCxGC allows higher peak capacity (i.e., resolution of a higher number of peaks within a given time) and better separation of co-eluting compounds.
LC-ICP-MS – an innovative technology that combines liquid chromatography with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry to identify organic compounds and simultaneously measure several elements
Standard oenological analyses – equipment for standard oenological analyses (sugar content, alcohol content, free and titratable acidity, sulphur dioxide), manual and automated enzymatic analyses (glucose, fructose, malic acid, lactic acid) and analysis of other qualitative parameters using HPLC, coupled with DAD and fluorimeter

Your advantage

Our speciality: high-altitude wines. Our chemical and sensory analyses offer double security. On request, we can develop long-term projects.
