How do building materials respond to heat and moisture?
This laboratory is where innovative materials and design solutions are born.
The laboratory is outfitted with modern instruments. Analytical scales, climate chambers, drying ovens and pressure extractors make it possible to measure building materials’ fundamental thermal and hygrometric properties. This is how we create innovative materials and construction solutions that prevent moisture-related damage to building materials.
The basis for innovation: complete characterisation of building materials
In this laboratory, innovative materials can be developed, with a focus on their hygrothermal behaviour. In addition, we test the performance of building materials according to standard requirements and carry out a complete characterisation in terms of density, thermal conductivity, vapour permeability, water absorption coefficient, hygroscopic absorption function and hydraulic conductivity.
