Software Developer (Full-Stack/Backend Focus)

Intro

touristinfo.ai is a B2B SaaS startup building sustainable AI chatbots for tourism destinations across the Dolomites and South Tyrol. We help 10+ destinations manage visitor flows and prevent overtourism through intelligent AI systems. We're a small, fully remote team (based in Bolzano) that moves with purpose, values autonomy, and cares deeply about our mission. Job description

You'll join our technical team working directly with our CEO/tech lead to build and scale AI-powered chatbot systems for tourism destinations. We're looking for someone who can own features end-to-end, make thoughtful decisions, and deliver quality code in a dynamic environment where your work has real impact.

Tasks

• Build and maintain full-stack features using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Python

• Develop and optimize AI agent systems, RAG implementations, and vector database integrations

• Work with multi-agent systems and LLMs/SLMs for conversational AI

• Build data pipelines integrating tourism APIs and destination data

• Own specific product areas independently with support when needed

• Deploy and maintain services on Azure infrastructure

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python

• Proven experience with AI agents, LLMs, SLMs, RAG systems, and vector databases

• Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and API development

• Portfolio with real shipped projects (GitHub/live products required)

• Deep experience using AI tools in daily workflow

• High autonomy - you take ownership of your work and deliver complete features

• Fluent in English and German (Italian is a strong plus)

• Clear communicator who works well in async/remote environments

• Comfortable with structured check-ins and independent work
