Sustainable snacks for sport lovers

Combining sports nutrition and sustainability – this is what Johanna Pauer and Xavier Pettigrew aim to do with the Trephor project. As part of their university thesis at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the two students are developing sports nutrition powders in reusable packaging. The mixes are easily prepared with a little water, are compact, and provide a full range of nutrients. They are also much more sustainable and cheaper than traditional sports snacks, which usually come in single-use plastic packaging. Some of the recipes for these powders were created in our Kitchen Lab, where Johanna and Xavier were able to experiment with different flavours and consistencies to find the perfect blend.
