Increasing building sustainability with SINCRO intelligent sensors

SINCRO
SINCRO is a simple, reliable interactive system for managing buildings sustainably to increase comfort of living and reduce energy waste. The joint project is managed by Fraunhofer Italia, Eurac Research, Alperia Bartucci and Systems GmbH, and it’s funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The SINCRO system uses advanced Internet of Things (IoT) sensors to detect the quality of the surrounding environment, raising user awareness of the energy changes they can make to increase sustainability and reduce consumption. The system is currently being tested in a social housing unit and a pre-school. Each of the project partners contributed their own area of expertise to its development. In creating this integrated system, an IT solution has been developed to manage building data from multiple sources using different communication protocols. Additionally, an intelligent heating management system integrates indoor comfort data and predictive user profiles, while an interactive interface based on AI algorithms has been developed to actively engage and educate users.
