Everything you need to know as a company
Customised photovoltaics
The PV Prototyping Lab is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to the development and prototyping of custom PV modules – for research, industrial and special applications
From greenhouse roofs and building façades to high-altitude mountain deployments, photovoltaics now go far beyond standard modules. This lab bridges the gap between research and application, delivering tailor-made solutions that are flexible in design and adapted to specific materials, use cases and environmental conditions.
The laboratory facilitates all the necessary steps in the development process: from early concepts to near-series modules. This is made possible by a semi-automated lamination line (up to 1x1m2), a wide range of measurement methods and close links to the Solar PV Lab and the Accelerated Life Testing Lab. Together, these labs cover electrical testing, ageing simulations and service life testing.
Our focus is on developing innovative modules for a wide range of applications: from conventional PV to building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), agrivoltaics (agriPV) and solutions for extreme environments, including Alpine PV and Floating PV.
