Photovoltaic systems perform best when anomalies are detected early, failures are prevented, and maintenance is planned intelligently. Our PV Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Lab develops and evaluates advanced O&M strategies in an outdoor testbed, combining data-driven monitoring with on-site field inspections.

Using techniques ranging from non-invasive characterisation and robotics to generative AI, we develop and validate testing procedures, evaluate innovative inverter functions and build robotic solutions to automate O&M workflows. We also assess the effectiveness of cleaning methods, tracking algorithms and IoT sensor systems.
