Cooling offices and production processes with the cold of alpine rivers – can it really work? The engineering company Bergmeister has proven it. Their system uses glacier-cooled water from the Isarco River to provide cooling for nearby industrial plants, requiring only about one-fortieth part of the electricity consumed by conventional systems. Together with our Tech Transfer Green unit, the company launched an R&D project that took the idea from prototype to on-site implementation, while also opening up new market opportunities.
