Whether on South Tyrol’s alpine pastures or near popular attractions, parking quickly becomes a challenge during peak times. Managing visitor flows more effectively and making better use of existing infrastructure requires two things above all: reliable data and the ability to turn it into clear, usable information. Together with the Open Data Hub, the company Ithel shows how intelligent cameras make this work. In a new project in Villanders, real-time data such as occupancy levels and available parking spaces is being captured and turned into a tool designed to support smaller municipalities.
