Waste in, heat out

Agriculture, forestry and food production all generate organic residues. Biologik Systems is tapping into this potential – and developing the Bio Heat System at NOI Techpark.
The technology turns biomass into compost and usable heat. To make this happen, a natural process is carefully controlled: bacteria break down the material and produce heat, which can then be used for heating through a special heat converter. What remains at the end is compost that can be returned to agriculture.
In developing this technology further, Biologik Systems was able to draw on different services and infrastructures at NOI Techpark: we supported the company in implementing an R&D project and in financing its innovation projects, and connected it with the right laboratories and research partners. In our Maker Space, Biologik Systems was also able to use professional machinery to develop a prototype.
