Bridging Business and Code: Making Public Sector Processes Executable

Renè Lamber, Research Industrial Systems Engineering (RISE) Italia

Business processes in the public sector are rarely simple. They need to stay transparent, auditable and flexible — while still working in real-life IT systems.
In our May session, René Lamber from RISE Italia will show how process orchestration and automation can help bridge the gap between business analysis and technical implementation. Using BPMN as a shared language between analysts and developers, the talk explores how process models can move beyond documentation and become truly executable.
Based on a real-world case study from the social insurance domain, we’ll look at how tools like Camunda support maintainable and evolvable process-driven architectures – with automation built in through service tasks, listeners and system integration, but without tying everything to a single product.
If you’re interested in workflow automation, domain logic and the challenge of turning business processes into running code, this session will give you plenty of practical insights to take home.

See how process models become real applications — and why that matters for developers, too!
