Photo Action: Nature in Focus. In stillness, nature whispers. Click.

In 2025, Laimburg Research Centre celebrates its 50th anniversary and invites everyone to take part in Photo Action: Nature in Focus – a photography initiative that encourages people to rediscover nature from a fresh perspective. The initiative is open to anyone aged 18 and over.

The aim is to take a break from everyday life, pause, and focus on the natural world around us. To participate, simply take a photo of nature – such as a plant or an animal – and upload it with a title to the website https://natureinfocus.laimburg.it. All submissions will be published online with the participant’s name and the photo title. A selection of images will also be displayed in a public exhibition at the NOI Techpark, alongside historical photographs from the Centre.

To inspire creativity, participants can choose from three suggested themes: Symmetry, to explore geometric shapes through unusual perspectives; Local Biodiversity, to highlight the variety of species in the region; and Colour Contrasts, to capture striking natural colour combinations using light.
