Event

Next Level Production Systems

Detail

Manufacturing is evolving: digital technologies are making production more connected and efficient, while the need to optimise resource use and build resilient value chains is driving more sustainable production systems. At the same time, advances in collaborative robotics and automation are reshaping the role of workers and how people interact with technologies and production processes – making the human factor more important than ever.

To respond to these developments, manufacturing companies need to combine digitalisation, sustainability and new production technologies. This is the ambition behind the new Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing Competence Hub, a joint initiative of NOI Techpark, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and Fraunhofer Italia. The Hub will support companies in turning digitalisation and sustainability strategies into concrete industrial projects – from assessment and testing to training and technology transfer.

On 3 November, manufacturing companies, researchers and technology providers will meet at NOI Techpark to explore this transformation and mark the launch of the new Competence Hub. Applied research, examples from South Tyrolean industry and technology solutions will show what this looks like in practice – from digital twins and energy efficiency to automated quality control, flexible automation and product carbon footprints.

Multilingual event with simultaneous interpretation. We will be trialling a new AI tool for simultaneous translation – please bring your own headphones.
