IN MEDEAS RES / LIQUID LOFT

The protagonist of IN MEDEAS RES, the latest creation by the renowned Vienna-based company Liquid Loft, is the ancient figure of Medea, as embodied by the legendary opera diva Maria Callas in Pier Paolo Pasolini's 1969 film. Inspired by Pasolini, choreographer Chris Haring and the dancers of Liquid Loft bring to life an ambiguous, ambivalent creature whose grotesque movements transcend the boundaries of the mythical world: an interplay of bodies, sounds and utopian tableaux vivants, in which new orders replace existing ones; all that is young withers and the metaphysical disappears.

Founded in 2005, Liquid Loft opens up new fields of choreographic action and connects contemporary dance with other contemporary art forms.
