BeaconSüdtirol
The project aims at improving services for citizens and optimising public administration decisions by providing better access and usability of data. Therefore, the following objectives of Beacon Südtirol have been identified:
To provide an open beacon network that allows to assign GPS coordinates to multiple points of interest even if no GPS signal is available;
Implementation of a WSN (wireless sensor network), which allows the collection of data from sensors distributed over the territory. All collected information is provided under the Open Data License;
Creating a local community involving local businesses, public administrations and local and international experts in the field of IoT. This community will ensure the maintenance and development of the installed infrastructure and services provided and provide new ideas for future developments.
