How to create a Chess Engine in Go
Chris Mair, 1006.org

Short days, grey skies, the winter blues... How about a cup of tea and a game of chess? Or, of course, you could develop an entire chess engine – as Chris Mair has done. Learn from his experience at our December meeting:

For a better understanding of the Go language, Chris Mair decided to write a toy chess engine from scratch. In his talk Chris will share his experiences with Go and the creation of the engine, called MOCHI. He will also talk about chess engines in general, a field that has seen significant progress in recent years, especially thanks to the two currently strongest engines, both of which are Open Source software. And for those of you who would rather postpone the development of their own chess engine until next spring, there will also be a comprehensive insight into the popular free chess website lichess.org, where people can play against each other or against self-hosted engines such as MOCHI.

Checkmate the winter boredom and register now for our December meeting.
