The Research Centre Laimburg is South Tyrol's leading research institution for agriculture and food quality. In excess of 150 employees work on around 350 research and experimental projects in the agricultural sector annually, always with the aim of increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of South Tyrol’s agriculture and of ensuring the high quality of agricultural products.
Since 2018, the Research Centre Laimburg has been represented at NOI Techpark with the Flavour and Metabolites Lab, which carries out investigations into food quality and plant health. In addition, together with unibz it operates the NMR Lab, in which the origin of agricultural products can be determined and authenticated. A large part of research in the food sector also takes place directly in the Research Centre Laimburg, which serves as the external branch office of NOI Techpark in the food technology field.
