About the lab

The climatic chamber (1.3 x 1.5 x 2.2 m) simulates accelerated life cycles of industrial products, such as photovoltaic modules, plastics and electronic components, in order to assess how their performance will degrade over their useful life. The tests are conducted under a range of controlled conditions, including temperature and air humidity.

Climatic chamber

The Angelantoni PV4500 climatic chamber features heating, cooling, humidification and dehumidification systems, enabling the tested items to be exposed to complex and controlled temperature and humidity conditions.

Photovoltaic module testing

Up to ten standard-sized modules can be tested in the climatic chamber at any one time. All tests comply with the international standards IEC 61215 (for crystalline silicon modules) and IEC 61646 (for thin-film modules) and simulate the environmental conditions to which photovoltaic installations are exposed during their useful life and which accelerate their natural degradation process.
